I thought these slides would be of interest to new brewers as a photographic essay of sorts, documenting the moment a beer lover became a member of the cult of beer brewers. Enjoy.
The homebrew store - so this makes beer huh?
Now that's a grain store...
Fresh wort & my 1st fermenter...
The rest of my beginner's kit (not sure about the watch - may have timed my first attempt!)
Steeping malt...
Boiling wort...
The spent grain (now termed dog food).
It was winter... the house was an old rental... 22 degrees seemed tropical...
This makes me glad to have a keg system.
The capper was a donation to the cause.
All my own work! (and yes, that is our old kitchen / living room, like I said SMALL rental)
The original BrewDog
Yeast cake: If I knew then what I know now I'd have saved $$$
The first incarnation of The Big Shed Brewery - I was only allowed one shelf... The Crowns were a gift from a sales rep.
