Make great beer on a budget! We'll show you how.

Like the sign says, I'm back bitches.

I graduated University, for the second time, got some more letters to put after my name (something I'll probably never actually do) and even managed to find time to brew a little.

In the time since we last saw each other I brewed an amazing double IPA called Smooth Hoperator that used Mosaic hops and came roaring in at a little over 100 IBU's. I tapped a 2-year old aged Belgian dubbel and brewed a hoppy Imperial Stout that rocks your olfactory senses completely.

I also extended to brewery to include a deck, planted Chinook hops to complement my Goldings and Pride of Ringwood, built an automated HERMS unit, motorised the grain mill and best of all last week the Tassie Beer Doctor was in town so he called by and sampled some beers, exclaiming that he'd willingly pay $20 for a four pack of my Smooth Hoperator. There, I can die a happy man.

Oh, I nearly forgot, the brewery also now houses a new Bose sound system and last weekend Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee rocking the house!

In the not to distant future the Tassie Beer Doctor is going on his annual round the world trip and will be calling in a Danmark, the USA and South Africa after last year going to France and Belgium. He even scored a bottle of Nun's beer while in Belgium. Following our meeting last week he will be posting notes of his travels on the site as they happen.

The N00b is also hard at it. He's now a hot-shot lawyer working in New England and from what I've seen is also managing to squeeze in bigger and better brews. What more do you need other than a beer doctor and a brewing lawyer! I should change the name of the site from The Beer Engineer to Top Beers, since we've got 3 eccentric men behaving dubiously in the name of journalism...

Here's to getting back to things on the site and a whole lot more fun in the brewery. Cheers.
